A note about the content of Gypsy:
Gypsy tells the story of famed Burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee, who headlined the world-renowned Minsky’s Theatres in the 1930’s. Burlesque as a form of entertainment derived from elements of Victorian music hall and minstrel shows, and slowly evolved to feature risqué comedy and female nudity.
As an integral plot point of this musical is Gypsy Rose Lee’s introduction into, and eventual conquering of, the world of American striptease, many of the costumes for almost all female cast members in the latter portion of the show may be slightly revealing, suggestive, and/or body-conforming in nature. However, there will be no nudity in this production.
