Each week of the morning program will focus on a different topic – sign up for one week or all 5!! We hope that this format will allow students more choice and flexibility. Recommended for grades 5 -12. Workshop sessions are from 9:30am to 12:00pm, Monday through Friday. No class on July 3rd.

Sing Out, Loud, and Proud: Musical Theatre Voice Boot Camp, June 22-26, with Mary Hicks
Are you ready to hit those high notes and belt out your favorite show tunes? Join us for an electrifying, fun-filled week dedicated to unlocking the power and potential of your unique singing voice! This intensive “Voice Boot Camp” is designed for musical theatre enthusiasts in grades 6-12 who want to sharpen their vocal technique and stage presence. Over five fabulous days, you’ll dive into the essentials of healthy, powerful singing.
Whether you’re auditioning for the school show, preparing a college pre-screen, or just love to sing, you’ll leave with a strong foundation, new friends, and the confidence to take center stage. Get ready to sing your heart out and find your voice!

Audition Workshop, June 29-July 2, with Jen Brooks
Jen Brooks is an accomplished musical theater performer from the San Francisco Bay Area, who spent 16 years training and working professionally in New York City. An AMDA-NYC Graduate, her performing credits include the international touring company of A Chorus Line. The Marianas Islands premier of Mamma Mia! in Guam and US regional productions of Cats, Something Rotten, Beautiful- The Carol King Musical, Singin’ in The Rain, Anastasia, Into The Woods and Gypsy. She is also a choreographer, director and educator and is thrilled to bring her industry knowledge to the musical theater students of Hawaii.
This 4 day audition workshop is designed to help young actors prepare for auditions the way the professionals do. We’ll cover how to prepare material for the big day, how to make a good impression from the moment you enter the audition room and how to navigate challenges when things don’t go as planned. Students will get to learn and practice auditions skills and techniques that will help them feel more confident, reduce nerves, improve performance and understand industry etiquette. Class will also include individualized feedback and coaching on audition material.

Musical Theatre Movement and Dance, July 6-10, with Jen Brooks
Our young students will explore the art of story telling through movement and choreography. From abstract and creative character driven movement to structured broadway style choreography tailored to the collective level of the class. This is a fun, no-pressure class designed to explore characters, creativity and imagination with dance at the core. No experience necessary. Students should wear comfortable, movement friendly clothing.

Prop and Costume Building, July 13-17, with Dian Athena Hermes
Dian Athena Hermes is a dedicated music and theater educator with over 25 years of experience. Currently, she serves at Wai‘alae Elementary Public Charter School in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Mrs. Hermes holds a Bachelor of Music degree in K-12 Music Education from St. Olaf College and is presently pursuing an accelerated degree in Hawaiian Music. Additionally, she is the founder and director of the Wai‘alae Performing Arts Company, in which she produces, directs, designs and teaches engaging theater experiences for children in grades 3 through 9.
Dian’s prop and costume building workshop will provide hands-on experience in designing and creating stage elements for theater productions. Participants will learn basic crafting techniques, including painting, sewing, and assembling props that will be used in our production of Honk!, Jr. The workshop will emphasize creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as students collaborate on their projects. Alongside artistic skills, participants would gain an understanding of how props and costumes contribute to storytelling and character development.
Cost is $165 for each specialty workshop or $650 for all 5 weeks. Sign up for more than 2 weeks and receive a 15% discount.
