Jade Stice was one of the co-founders of IABK and the artistic director of our summer musical theatre arts education program. She directed the very first full-length musical production for IABK and our summer program, On Dragonfly Wings in 2017.
On Dragonfly Wings is a story of transformation and self-realization – goals that Jade and our program staff aim for every summer, with every student. The summer program was Jade’s mark on IABK and she viewed it as the most effective way to continue her mentor’s legacy into the next generation.
Jade was Mr. Bright’s first student to land a role in a Broadway production, when she was cast in the original Broadway company of Miss Saigon in 1991. Jade passed away suddenly in June 2024. To honor her memory and to support students in the IABK summer program, her ohana is sponsoring THE DRAGONFLY AWARDS to provide financial assistance to families that have an interest in participating in the program she loved so much.
Interested applicants should register for the summer program and our program director, Allan Lau, will be in contact.
